Ohlins Racing are world leaders in suspension systems with more than 100 World Champs and other major titles in all disciplines of motor sport. The Double Barrel is the result of a partnership with Cane Creek to bring Ohlins' expertise to cycling. It has a unique Twin Tube design only previously used at the highest levels of motor sports and now available to downhillers and freeriders.

The Double Barrel coil-over-oil shock is designed for superior damping control and offers the broadest adjustment range available. Its speed-sensitive valving delivers independent control over 4 damping regions: high-speed compression, high-speed rebound, low speed compression and low speed rebound.

There are three distinct damping features in the Double Barrel for both compression and rebound.

  • Low speed bleed valves control the flow of oil when the shaft is moving slowly (small bumps and pedalling forces)
  • High-speed poppet style valves open once the pressure from the oil flow is significant enough (big hits)
  • The main piston has both compression and rebound shim stacks, which control the high speed damping characteristics

    Separating all these components are check calves that allow them to operate totally independently.

    This unique valving is paired with a high performance coil spring in titanium or steel. Both are available in spring rates perfectly matched to your weight, frame design and leverage ratio.

    PERFORMANCE
    Take the Double Barrel down your favourite course. You'll notice your wheels maintaining better contact with the trail because big hit recovery is quicker. Control when jumping of ledges is also better because the valving handles that too. There are some things you wont find, like pedal bobbing, bucking or squirrelly handling characteristics.

    ADJUSTABILITY
    With multiple external adjustment possibilities the Double Barrel meets the damping requirements of most long travel suspension bikes and suits a wide range of riding styles. Two hex adjusters (high speed compression and rebound) and two bleed screw adjusters (low speed compression and rebound) provide on-the-trail control.
